Spain By Plane



In almost every capital of province in Spain, you'll find an airport. There are a few regional flights to the islands and spanish cities in northern Africa as well. The national and biggest airline in Spain is IBERIA (www.iberia.es). Other companies are: AVIACO (www.aviaco.es), AIR EUROPA (www.air-europa.com), SPANAIR (www.Spanair.com), AIR NOSTRUM (www.airnostrum.es) for regional travels. Internal flights

Spain's Iberia Airlines, which is state-operated, operate an extensive network of internal flights from the major airports. Also, its subsidiary, Aviaco covers solely Spanish domestic routes. Iberia provides 200 reservation outlets. There are also 4,000 sales outlets in authorised travel agencies.

International flights

From North America, Central Holidays/ Discover Spain Vacations sell the Spain Airpass for $165 per flight on Iberia within Spain (in conjunction with an Iberia transatlantic flight). Air Europa is a carrier offering internal flights which can be booked from North America. In Australia, the Spain Airpass is available from Spanish Tourism Promotions in Melbourne. The Spain Airpass isn't available in Britain and Ireland.

Spain has many international airports. The airports open to international traffic are: Alicante, Almeria, Aviles, Barcelona, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Girona, Granada, Ibiza, Jerez de la Frontera, Corunna, Lanzarote, Las Palmas, Madrid-Barajas, Malaga, Melilla, Menorca, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Reus (Tarragona), San Sebastian, Santander, Santiago de Compostela (Corunna) Seville, Tenerife-Norte, Tenerife-Sur, Valencia, Vigo, Vitoria and Zaragoza. A departure tax applies when flying out of Spain, but this is included in the price of the ticket at purchase.
