Seville is the capital of the province of Seville and of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is situated south of the Iberian Peninsula, on the plain of the Guadalquivir River. Its total area is 140 km2 (54.1 sq mi) with an altitude of 7 meters above sea level.
Bordered on the north by La Rinconada, La Algaba and Santiponce, on the east by Alcalá de Guadaira, on the south by Dos Hermanas and Gelves and on the west by San Juan de Aznalfarache, Tomares and Camas.
