Above the Old Harbor rises "La Catedral de Palma". The Gothic Cathedral (also called "La Seu") stands in the Old Town and rises above the harbour. The structure of the cathedral is predominantly Gothic and was constructed during the reign of Jaume II (1276-1311) and completed in 1601. The main facade and parts of the interior were renovated by Antoni Gaudí at the beginning of the 20th century.

From the terrace on the south side of the cathedral you'll see an amazing view of the bay. "La Seu" also overlooks Parc de la Mar with its impressive fountains, sculptures and with its man-made lake, co-designed by Joan Miro. Next to the cathedral is the Palau de Almudaina, which was the Royal residence in the Middle Ages. This castle was built in the 14th century incorporating the walls of an Arab fortress. Today houses an interesting museum.

In order to enter to the cathedral, you must pass by a small, three-room museum, which holds a precious gold and silver collection of religious artwork. Likewise, "La Seu" has in its interior series of narrow columns supporting the soaring ceiling and framing three levels of 1200 pieces of stained glass.
