Erected in 1309, The Castle of Bellver is situated two kilometres away from Palma's city centre, on top of the wooded hill that dominates the bay. This ancient castle is well preserved and now houses on its lower floor the Museu Municipal, where you can find several archaeological objects as well as old coins. Also, a number of rooms on the first floor are open to the public. The Castle of Bellver also houses the Despuig Collection of Classical Sculpture. These two museums takes you through the all history of Palma from prehistoric times to the present.

Its circular plan points to the influence of Eastern models. Its unusual shape and the delicate arches inside the Castle lend it an ornamental, rather that defensive, appearance. From here you have the best view of Palma. In fact, for only 2€ you can visit the flat roof of the castle and have amazing 360º views of the city, its bay and the countryside.

EL ARENAL
9 miles SE of Palma city centre at the southern edge of Playa de Palma resort.

El Arenal (also known as S'Arenal) is located on the east coast of the Bay of Palma and is a lively and highly developed resort. S'Arenal is popular with German travelers and it's ideal for single travelers as well as families. In the same way, S'Arenal has a lively nightlife and a good selection of bars with live music in the narrow crowded streets.

The biggest attraction of S'Arenal is Aquacity, which is a massive water park with pools, chutes, and slides that can houses more than 3,500 bathers simultaneously. Taking a walk from Palma port toS'Arenal is also recommended. During your walk you'll see El Portixol, El Molinar, Coll d'En Rabassa and Can Pastilla.
