The Cathedral is one of the most preferred places to visit in Malaga. It is located in the city center near to the Alcazaba. This awesome church can be seen from different points of the city. Its official name is "Catedral de la Encarnación" (Cathedral Church of the Incarnation); however, locals refer to it as "La Manquita" (One-armed Lady) because the south tower of the façade is unfinished. The construction of this Renaissance Church began in 1528 and continued throughout the 17th and 18th century. The construction was never finished (the top part of the main façade and a tower are incomplete). It is considered as the second highest cathedral in Andalusia with a northern tower that is around 93 meters high.

The façade has a Baroque style. The entry doors show beautiful medallions dedicated to the saints of Malaga and one represents the Annunciation of the Lord. The inside of the church is simply fantastic. The choir stalls with beautiful sculptures were carried out by artists such as Pedro Mena and Ortiz de Vargas, and are one of the church's most marvelous features. The two organs (that have over 4000 pipes) are still in a good working condition and they are another example of the great things to see inside the church. The Cathedral museum houses beautiful paintings, sculptures and religious ornaments made of silver and gold.

A visit to the Picasso museum, without doubt, will be definitely a great experience. They hold awesome works of one of the most famous artist of all time, Picasso. It is located in the Buenavista Palace (a building that dates back to the 17th century).

The museum houses more than 200 splendid works that constitute a testimony of the extraordinary career of Pablo Picasso. The works include paintings, sculptures, ceramics, drawing, etc. Christine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, daughter-in-law and grandson respectively, donated a total of 155 works by Pablo Picasso, which cover all the creative periods of the artist's work. The donation was the cornerstone of the project. Sometimes, the museum organizes workshops, concerts, conferences and other activities that are related to Picasso. Another attraction in the museum is the remains that were found during the renovation of the Palace.
