Madrid Taxis

Taxis run all day and night and can be found throughout Madrid, even in the most remote parts of the city, albeit less frequently than in busier parts, and at most any hour. The taxis in Madrid are white and are distinguished with a diagonal red band on the front doors. You can flag them down in the street when the green light is on. Otherwise there are taxi ranks or you can order them by telephone using the radio taxi service. A lit green light on top of the taxi indicates if it is available.

Finding a taxi in the downtown area of Madrid is relatively simple and should take no longer than two or three minutes. Tariffs are displayed inside the taxis and comprise the minimum fare, flag-down charge, kilometre charge and other extras such as night service, public holidays, and station or airport service. The fare is always indicated by the taxi meter in the front part of the taxi. The night fare is always higher than the day fare.

For additional information about taxis and reservations, call Radio Telifono-Taxi (902 478 200) or Tele Taxi (902 501 130)
