Madrid by Bus

Compared with the good deals often available airlines, the coach isn’t always a cheap alternative, moreover you have a hellish two- to three-day journey. However, buses are very modern vehicles, well-maintained, very clean & comfortable, safer than car travel, and mainly prompt. Coach services operate regularly from major capitals of Western Europe to Madrid, from which bus connections can be made to Seville. Typical long-distance bus trips include the following cities: Barcelona, Seville, Málaga, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Santander, Cádiz, and Salamanca (but that's stretching it).
The main bus and coach station in Madrid is the Estación Sur de Autobuses (Calle Méndez Alvaro, Phone: 91 468 42 00, metro Méndez Alvaro). Another bus stations: Paseo de Florida (METRO: Princípe Pío), Conde Casal (METRO: Conde Casal), & Avenida de América (METRO: Avenida de América).
The busiest routes are from London and are run by Eurolines Limited (52 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0AU (tel. 0990/143-219 or 020/7730-8235 - www.eurolines.com). Eurolines departs from London to Spain several times a week in summer and once a week the rest of the year. The journey takes between 26-36 hours.
