Jaén practicalities
Jaen is 92 km north of Granada by the fast N323. This road continues to Bailen where it meets the Cordoba Madrid N1V. You'll find the Tourist Office in Calle Maestra 13 (Phone: +34 953242624; Fax: +34 953242624; www.andalusia.org). This office is open September to June Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm. Open July to October Monday to Friday 10pm to 8pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
A beautiful natural reserve, Parque Natural Despeñaperros (23000 Santa Elena. Phone: 953 12.50.18) is located to the north of the province of Jaén in Brown Mountain range. It is a natural pathway formed by the river between the Castilian plateau and Andalusia. The "Vía Verde del Aceite" corresponds to an ancient tracing of ferrous line of the beginning of the XXth century that united Jaén with Puente Genil (Córdoba province). This route is known as the train of the oil. There you can practise walking or cycling.
Jaén is perfectly connected to the main spanish capitals by regular bus lines. Moreover, its Bus Station (Phone: 953 250 106) is situated at the city center, very close to the hotels chosen for the accommodation. The bus station is on Plaza de Coca de la Pinera, 250m north of Plaza de la Constitucion. Also, Jaén has a modern train statin whose situation allows an easy access to both the hotels and the Workshop. If you come from Sevilla, you can take the Train number 03027 (16,45€). In the same way, if you come from Madrid,threre are serveral trains you can take, the train number 08030, 08034, 08914, 08032 (between 22,35€ and 26,35€). Jaén's Train Station is located on Plaza de Jaén por la Paz, Phone: 02 24 02 02.
