Fuente Vaqueros Lorca museum
Fuente Vaqueros is the birth place of the most important Spanish poet of the 20th century: Federico Garcia Lorca, who was murdered by the nationalism during the regime of Francisco Franco. His birthplace is now a museum, the Museo Casa Natal Federico García Lorca. In fact, his house is now a small museum, where some of the personal objects and fragments of Lorca's life are preserved. Also an old gramophone plays some of Lorca's musical compositions.
Fuente Vaqueros, is less than 40 minutes by car from Granada. The museum displays the cradle, school photographs and a death certificate signed by his parents.
