Breakfast, snacks and sandwiches
While an American traditional breakfast has pancakes, bacon, and eggs, the Spanish "traditional" breakfast is small, but tasty, and usually consists of a cup of coffee with a slice of toast and jam, a pastry or churros. Spaniards also drink Cafe con leche (espresso coffee with steamed milk) with a roll and some cheese and/or jam. One popular breakfast combination is chocolate con churros; thick hot chocolate served with a sort of deep-fried tubular doughnut. That keeps Spaniards going until they have lunch at 1p.m. or even later.
