Cordoba Nightlife

Flamenco Clubs

You can certainly check out the flamenco clubs, but most Cordobeses roam around at night, sampling the tapas and drinking regional wine in the various taverns.

FLAMENCO CLUBS
» Tablao Cardenal
Phone: 95-748-31-12
Address: Calle Torrijos 10
Opening hours: Shows are presented Tuesday to Saturday at 10:30pm
Price: 18€ ($22) that includes your first drink.

Tablao Cardenal is Córdoba's most popular and dynamic flamenco club. Just across from the Mezquita, you can enjoy a show featuring international and award-winning flamenco artists. Some of the purest styles of Andalusian flamenco -- soleá, bulerías, and alegrías -- are showcased here.
» Mesón Flamenco La Bulería
Phone: 95-748-38-39
Address: Pedro López 3, close to the Plaza de la Corredera on the outskirts of the old part of town.
Opening hours: Most shows start nightly around 10:30pm. The club is generally closed from December to February.
Price: The cover of 11€ ($13) includes your first drink.

For an even more authentic flamenco place, head for Mesón Flamenco La Bulería. This is one of the most reasonably priced flamenco shows in Andalusia, considering the class of its talent.
» Gran Teatro de Córdoba
Address: Av. Gran Capitán 3
Phone: 95-748-02-37

The Gran Teatro de Córdoba is the site of most of the ballet, opera, chamber music, and symphony performances in town.

If you want to see beautiful flamenco dancers, keep in mind that the last week of May takes place the Feria de Cordoba, the festival of Flamenco music and dance, in marquees decorated with colored lamps.

Pubs & Bars in Córdoba

Nightlife in Córdoba is endless. You can spend the night here just the way you want it – frenetic and fast-paced, slow and relaxing or anything in between. The Plaza de la Corredera is a popular nightlife area, as well as along the Paseo de Cordoba. This newest part of the city boasts a wealth of modern bars and clubs. Avenida del Brillante is also a good place to start your bar-hopping adventures.

PUBS & BARS IN CORDOBA
» Bar Círculo Taurino
Phone:95-748-18-62
Address: Calle Manuel María Arcona 1

This is the bar where aficionados meet to debate -- often loudly -- the relative merits (or lack thereof) of Andalusian bullfighters. In between a lot of wine or beer, Andalusian olives and hunks of cheese are consumed, among other tapas. The bar is small, cramped, and loaded with bullfighting memorabilia.
» Casa Rubio
Phone: 95-742-08-53
Address: Puerta de Almódovar 5

Push back a thick curtain to enter this dimly lit tasca where you'll find a gruff but accommodating welcome at the rectangular bar or in either of a pair of rooms partially covered with Andalusian tiles. We like the leafy inner courtyard where iron tables and a handful of chairs wobble slightly on the uneven floor.
» El Juramento
Address: Calle Juramento 6
Phone: 95-748-54-77

Has an excellent reputation built on 100 years of serving great food and drinks. Close to the Plaza de la Corredera
» La Moncloa
Address: Av. del Brillante s/n
Phone: 95-727-23-11

Named for the presidential palace outside Madrid (why no one knows), this spot mostly attracts student for dancing, pickups, and Spanish pop. A DJ plays house, hip-hop, and a variety of Latin music.
» Taberna Casa Salinas
Address: Puerto de Almodóvar s/n
Phone:95-729-08-46

Near Casa Pepe, this is another atmospheric old dive, offering glasses of sherry and plates of freshly made tapas along with spicy Andalusian sausages and buckets of olives. Pepe Salinas is now in his fourth decade of running this crowded bar and old-fashioned dining room. In fair weather the action spills onto a romantic Andalusian courtyard. Sometimes spontaneous flamenco shows are staged here.
