Arriving CordobaBy Train If you want to come to Córdoba, one of the most convenient and most popular means of transport to Córdoba is the train, as Córdoba is a rail junction for routes to the rest of Andalusia and is on the vital rail link between Madrid and Seville. Córdoba is well serviced by railway and connected with other Spanish cities by the AVE (Alta Velocidad Española) high-speed train network. The main railway station is positioned in the northwest of the city centre. If you come from France or Great Britain, take "Eurostar" from London to Paris and the "Trainhotel" from Paris to Madrid. Then take a 186 mph "AVE" from Madrid to Cordoba or Seville in just 2 hours. These trains run every hour or better. There are between around 30 trains per day arriving from Madrid (47€ or $56 for a one-way ticket). A one-way ticket between Córdoba and Seville sells for 24€ ($28). For rail information, call tel. 90-224-02-02; for AVE schedules or information call tel. 90-224-02-02. The RENFE advance ticket office in Córdoba is at Ronda de los Tejares 10 (tel. 95-747-58-84). By Plane Air is not the best way to reach Córdoba. The small Cordoba Airport is situated about 9km (5 1/2 miles) outside of the city and provides limited facilities. This Airport does not serve any frequent scheduled flights and is mainly for private planes. Most visitors arriving by air from other parts of Spain or the continent fly to Seville, Málaga or Granada and they continue their journey by public transport or car to reach Cordoba. By Bus The Cordoba bus station is positioned near the RENFE railway station, it's located at the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, off the Avenida de America. It is a long, 30 minute walk from the train station to the Mezquita. However, there are eight different bus terminals in the city. Some of them are:
By Car Renting a car for use within Córdoba is not recommended. You will have to consult your map constantly and you'll also have to pay parking. However, rental cars are still a great travel option if you're planning on venturing beyond the city limits for an excursion. To drive across Andalucía and the whole of Spain is another cheap and popular option. The principal roads throughout entire Andalucía, including Cordoba, are in excellent conditions. Córdoba is 105km (65 miles) west of Jaén, 419km (260 miles) southwest of Madrid, 166km (103 miles) northwest of Granada and 129km (80 miles) east of Seville. If you are driving to Cordoba from Malaga, use the N-331 highway. It will tae you over two hours to get to Cordoba. If you are approaching from Seville by car, the trip will take approximately one hour via the N-IV highway. If you are driving from Madrid, take N-IV, the drive will be longer, though – over 4 hours. If you are driving into Spain from Portugal, the N-432 leads directly to Cordoba. Rent a Car in Cordoba, Spain:
