Cadiz Beaches

Cádiz is home to some of Spain's most beautiful beaches. In recent years, due to its wonderful long sandy beaches and its good weather, Cádiz has grown in popularity as a holiday destination. As a result the number of hotels, apartments and other services has risen over the past few years. Cadiz is also very popular with surfers, as it is one of the few places in Spain to offer great weather and high waves.
Cádiz has many beautiful beaches like "La playa de Santa María del Mar", "La playa de la Caleta", "La playa de la Victoria" and "Playa de Cortadura", among others. La Playa de Santa María del Mar (or Playita de las Mujeres) is a small beach in Cádiz, situated between La Playa de Victoria and La Playa de la Caleta. This beach features excellent views of the old district of Cádiz.
For the best views of the Atlantic Ocean there is nothing like a stroll in the garden walks of the Alameda de la Apodaca, the Genovés Park and La Caleta beach. This is the best-loved beach of Cádiz. "La Caleta" is the beach of the Old City, situated between two castles, San Sebastian and Santa Catalina.
In the newer part of Cádiz you will find "La Playa de la Victoria·", whch is the beach most visited by tourists and natives of Cádiz. Its moderate swell and the absence of rocks allow family bathing. It is separated from the city by an avenue; on the landward side of the avenue, there are many shops and restaurants.
