In Barcelona, there is no shortage of decent bookshops. However, the local product is pretty expensive, largely due to high printing costs in Spain. In "La Rambla", for example, there are many bookstores like the "Llibreria & Informacid Cultural de la Generalitat de Catalunya" (which has lots of books in catalan) and "Llibreria de la Virreina". In Barri Gotic & El Raval you'll find many bookstores as well: Antinous (a gay bookshop and cafe), Complices (which has many gay and lesbian books), Documenta (which has novels in English and French, and maps) and so on.
