Arrival Barcelona by FerryBarcelona is the Mediterranean’s foremost cruise ship harbour. It operates ferries and other services to the Balearic Islands and major ports. From the Balearics there are standard boats, on which you can get beds in cabins of up to four people and high-speed boats on which sleepers are not necessary. It has nine passenger terminals, six for cruise liners and three for ferries. Ferries depart daily for the Balearic Islands and there is a direct service to the port of Rome, Genoa and Algiers-Oran. Barcelona is one of the favourite base ports for cruise companies from Spain and abroad. In 2004, 689 cruise ships called in at the harbour with a total of 1.228.561 passengers on board.
