Shopping in Almeria

Ceramics & Handicrafts
The predominant handicrafts made in Almeria are ceramics, textiles, basket-making and carpentry, which is still practiced by some craftsmen in the capital, or works on coral in the coastal regions. Corals, baskets, pottery or wood works would make a good souvenir of your trip.

Many of the ceramic that you can see in Andalucía comes from Nijar. Everywhere in Almeria you will find many ceramic stores where you can buy masks, plates and other pretty ceramics.

Textile work of Velefique is influenced by the Moorish culture which is reflected in their weaving mills. The best known products are the 'jarapas', originally used as blankets, but now are used for decorative purposes. In Fiñana, Carboneras and Alboloduy are known for their fine baskets and similar products.

Shopping centres
Mediterraneo Centre (Mediterraneo Ave. - Almeria City) is one of the many shopping centres in the beautiful region of Almeria Spain. You'll find here lots of fashion outlets, cafes and supermarket. Underground parking. This shopping centre is not open on Sundays except during some Bank Holidays.
