Shopping in Sevilla

If you are in Seville and you want to go shopping, you must know that Seville has a varied and lively shopping scene. Stores are usually opened from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., but large stores such as El Corte Inglés are opened from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are really a few supermarkets such as Más y Más and SuperSol that are opened all day. You should know that almost all stores are closed on Sundays; however, these are opened before Christmas (December).

La Calle Sierpes is the main shopping area in Seville, it runs from the Campana up to Plaza Salvador. There are small boutiques in the side streets where you can find all kinds of things such as the traditional Andalucian shawls. You can find ceramics that you can take as souvenirs in the Triana neighborhood. El Corte Ingles is a big store located in Plaza Duque de la Victoria, in which you can find everything you are looking for.

If you are looking for some luxury boutiques, you can do it in La Plaza Nueva, but you can find local artist, who show their stuff in an interesting but simple art market on the Plaza del Museo; it is located near the "Museo de Bellas Artes". There are other markets such as the famous flea market that is opened every Sunday morning in Alameda de Hercules; and "El Jueves" that is opened on Thursday, and it takes place in the Calle Feria.

Sometimes, it is recommended to head to the main shopping district, when one is not sure what one is looking for; but if you know what you want, for example: posters, ceramics, key makers, cobblers, and other small services, you can find in boutiques as small as 10 square feet.
