It is a city and municipality in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha; it is located in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula, between the Comarca of La Alcarria and the Comarca of Campiña Henares on the Valley of Henares River. Its total area is 235.51 km2 (90.9 sq mi).
Guadalajara population centers are: Pedanías de Iriépal, Taracena, Marchamalo, Cabanillas del Campo, Fuentelahiguera de Albatages, Málaga del Fresno y Fontanar, Bellavista and El Clavín.
The city boundaries are: Fontanar and Marchamalo on the northwest; Tórtola de Henares on the north; Torija and Aldeanueva de Guadalajara on the northeast; Cabanillas del Campo on the west; Centenera and Lupiana on the east; Alovera on the southwest; Chiloeches, Pozo de Guadalajara, Pioz and Loranca de Tajuña on the South and Horche, Yebes, Valdarachas and Aranzueque on the Southeast.
