When you travel to Cordoba, we recommend you to visit the museums of town, they are pretty good. The collections of Córdoba's museums have an important amount of representative archeological pieces of different cultures such as: Iberian, Roman, Visigoth, Muslim, Mudéjar and Renaissance pieces.
ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

This small museum has an important local collection, and its main pieces are: the Arabian bronze-Stag from the Moorish palace of Medina Azahara, the old-Iberian lion of Cartella, the Roman Head of Drusus, the Visigoth Treasure of Don Jimeno.

It is located inside a grand renaissance palace, its organization is interesting: the ground floor is for the roman archeology, and the next floor is for the Moorish archeology.

The Julio Romero de Torres museum is next to the Fine Arts Museum in plaza Del Potro, the place once was the house of the famous painter and now all his fantastic work is kept here, along with other paintings from other artists.

MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

This museum is located at the 15th century Episcopal palace, next to the museum of Julio Romero de Torres. The "Museo de BellasArtes" or Museum of Fine Arts shows a variety of paintings and sculptures from Cordoban artists such as: Carlos de Haes, Jimenez Aranda, Regoyos, Sorolla, Romero Barros, Santiago Rusiñol, Gonzalo Bilbao, and from famous Spanish artist like Goya, Valdez and Murillo. It is the oldest museum in town.
