Around Barcelona

Barcelona is divided into twelve districts. The most popular are Ciutat Vella and The Ensanche; these districts have the most famous neighborhoods in all Barcelona. The most popular neighborhoods are the barri Gòtic, the Raval, and L’Eixample. They are popular for its shopping places, architecture, clubs and bars.

In the Raval neighborhood, there is a very crowded street called the Ramblas which is a street full of stores, department stores, cafés, museums and art-galleries. It is a very nice place where you can take a walk and enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere as well as the urban artist that usually perform along the street.

Barcelona has six beaches that have the blue flag of the European Union. The beaches are equipped with areas to practice summer sports. There are also places to eat and drink; these are called “chiringuitos.” You can find hotels around the beach that offer excellent service and rooms with a view to the Mediterranean Sea.
