Tapas Bar in Barcelona

Tapas bars are typical Spanish and Barcelonan places to eat and drink. It is said that the origin of such bars comes from the 13th century when King Alfonso X had a health problem. The treatment consisted of drinking wine and eating something small at the same time. This is how everyone else acquired the custom of having a little snack while drinking.

This led to the opening of little bars where one can order all kinds of typical Spanish drinks and snacks. The snacks used to be free when a customer ordered something to drink. Of course, once business owners realized that Barcelona attracted too many tourists to the point that they started charging the snacks provided to customers. However, you can still find a few bars that offer free tapas. Tapas bars in Barcelona are places where you can spend a nice time talking to friends and enjoying delicious food snacks.
